Lancaster County has long been a mecca for outlet shoppers and senior citizen tour groups. But now tourism officials are attempting to take advantage of what they believe is an emerging tourism market: students.
Pennsylvania Dutch Convention & Visitors Bureau recently began distributing a guide designed to introduce tour operators, educators and people who plan student trips to Lancaster County attractions. In addition, the bureau plans to place ads in student-travel publications and is investigating the possibility of forming marketing partnerships with tour operators.
