KINDERHOOK LAW WAITS ON ABSENTEES.(Local)

The fate of a law extending the terms of Kinderhook's clerk and tax assessor, which appeared defeated at the polls on Election Day, rests with absentee ballots set to be counted Tuesday.

The law extending the terms from two to four years went down by a vote of 1,117 to 1,109. But since Election Day, the Board of Elections has received 16 absentee ballots.
